Interests

  • Java progamming! It`s my favourite language for development. My TER ("travail d\\\\'étude et de recherche", research project) at the end of 1st year masters was "duplication of ubiquitous components on dynamic networks", and it was done in Java with a framework called Julia which is an implementation of Fractal for component development. It also involved a lot of development for the network management, I started almost from scratch on that side. "Almost" because Sawa and I had previously developed a P2P app, which I partly reused and improved.
  • Web development in general. Lately I`m using a lot of XML/XSLT and javascript for creating websites. Thats why I`m now using Symphony (for XSLT), it\\\\'s perfect for my needs.
I also work with CMS a lot, such as Joomla, and even developed extensions (in Php) for it.
For javascript, I got the hang of using jQuery, there are so many extensions, and with jQuery UI making animations is fun!
  • I`m a bit into web design (mostly self-taught). I`ve done 1-2 templates for Joomla and Wordpress (...and adapted the design of my previous personnal site for Symphony). What I prefer is Flash though, I have done a good bunch of sites with it, back in the times AS1 and up to AS3.
  • Network security and security in general have long interested me. I got to do some tricks with BT3 (within a closed environment, for a project) as an "attacker", very enriching. Else, I`m usually for "prevention", even tested Snort (an intrusion detection system) on a Linux (weird, can`t remember if it was Debian or Ubuntu, was virtualized) and used the subject for a presentation in Security module, no effort is ever in vain!
  • Working with the cellule TICE gave me the taste of system and server administration and application deployment, all the while making all the services work together as well as making the whole experience transparent and simple to the end users.

Worth noting

  • Que viva Open Source!

  • "Microsoft environment" is an expression which gives me the creeps.

Notes

  • It's preferred to use the contact form rather than email. There is always a chance for emails to be picked up as spam.
  • I will generally reply to messages within 24 hours unless I am horribly swamped.
